Summary of Job Duties:Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, the Student Employee in the Cancer Institute Pharmacy will assist and support the pharmacist in the day-to-day dispensing operations. The Student Employee will be responsible for compounding sterile preparations, including chemotherapy infusions. They will utilize technology when necessary and appropriate, such as the electronic medical record and IV workflow software. They will help ensure compliance with USP <797> and <800> required cleaning, deactivation, decontamination, and disinfection as defined by departmental policy and procedures. They will perform daily and monthly cleaning tasks for the cleanroom suites on a rotating basis or as assigned. The Student Employee will prioritize work based on immediate need and rapidly changing workload. They will work as a team member to perform day to day work efficiently and accurately, along with any additional tasks or projects to help achieve departmental goals. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications:
  • Enrolled or accepted into an ACPE accredited college/school of pharmacy
  • Must work towards obtaining a Pharmacy Intern License within six months of hire
  • Pharmacy Intern License by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy OR PharmacyTechnician License by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy
Preferred qualifications:
  • Relevant pharmacy experience as a technician or intern (i.e. previous hospital experience,sterile compounding experience, hazardous drug handling, etc.)
  • Specialized certificate/certification (i.e. PTCB Certified Compounded Sterile PreparationTechnician, ASHP Sterile Compounding Certificate, etc.)
  • Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and EMR experience)
  • Strong math skills
