Job DescriptionThe Strategic Initiatives Specialist will manage creative divisional projects, promote organizational health through employee engagement, coordinate internal and external communications, and other special projects at the direction of the Senior Manager of Operations. The Specialist will take the lead on creating multimedia content for the External Relations Division, collaborating with Communications & Creative Services as necessary, and coordinating event promotion and venue marketing. Additionally, the Specialist will assist with departmental policy development, manage the TSTC-branded assets and promotional item inventory, and serve a key role in supporting team collaboration and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Essential Functions
  • Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.

  • Employee Engagement Initiatives and Analysis: Plan and promote divisional engagement initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and productivity at TSTC. Analyze engagement data and recommend improvements.

  • Multimedia Content Creation: Create media materials, presentations, proposals, and reports. Ensure high-quality and effective communication through visual aids and presentations. Partnering with Communications & Creative Services (C&CS) when appropriate.

  • Internal and External Communications: Draft, review, and edit various communications, including memos, letters, and official divisional announcements. Ensure clarity, accuracy, and professionalism in all written communications.

  • Liaison with C&CS: Serve as the liaison with Marketing / Communications & Creative Services to help ensure marketing efforts align with divisional needs.

  • Brand Ambassador: Act as a brand ambassador for the External Relations Division, representing and promoting its practices, standards, and expectations.

  • Event Promotion & Coordination: Support the External Relations Division by developing marketing materials, coordinating promotions, and capturing or arranging to capture event content.

  • Policy Review and Departmental Standards Management: Assist in the review and development of External Relations Operations departmental policies and procedures at TSTC. Manage and update the documents to ensure compliance and alignment with current strategic goals.

  • Asset Management: Manage and track External Relations promotional assets and resources at TSTC.

  • Project Coordination and Support: Help drive divisional initiatives by coordinating logistics, supporting team collaboration, and managing tasks such as short-term rental arrangements to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • Associate's degree or 2 years of college required. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience will be considered.

  • 1-2 years of required experience in customer service or event support. 2-4 years of experience preferred.

  • 1-2 years of required experience in content creation or management systems or project management. 2-4 years of experience preferred.

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, except in cases where a specific degree is required to meet accreditation standards, licensure requirements, or other legislative or regulatory obligations. This includes, but is not limited to, certain faculty positions and staff roles governed by state or federal educational mandates.

  • Project Management: Project management, multi-tasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Computer and Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in utilizing TSTC platforms and familiarity with PowerPoint and Google Suite applications.

  • Self-motivated: Exhibits proactive initiative and a strong work ethic, consistently taking ownership of tasks and working independently to contribute to organizational success. Persuasive, High-energy, initiative-taking self-starter.

  • Relationship Building: Proven track record in establishing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders to advance organizational goals.

  • Problem-Solving: Identifies, analyzes, and resolves problems and challenges to drive continuous improvement and innovation with strong critical thinking abilities

Work Environment & Additional Information
  • This is an on-campus position that requires employees to be physically present at a campus location at least three days per week

  • This role may require occasional travel to different office locations and events

  • This position is full time, requiring a standard 40-hour work week

  • This role is classified as salaried, exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
