The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for supporting the Enterprise Data Governance Officer (EDGO) to administer sound data stewardship for the organization. The analyst will work with Data Stewards to document and obtain information regarding compliance with Regulatory and Enterprise data practices. This role is responsible for working with individuals to ensure that implementation of Data Governance and Data Retention principles, policies, and standards are operating effectively company-wide. Performs other projects and duties as assigned. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities: * Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance and retention policies. * Build and maintain data governance roadmaps aligned with organizational goals. * Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to measure the effectiveness of governance initiatives, with guidance from the EDGO and Risk Manager. * Write and maintain clear, structured processes and procedures. * Collaborate with information technology, risk, compliance, and business units to ensure data handling aligns with regulatory and internal standards. * Maintain documentation related to data classification, retention schedules, and governance procedures. * Support data audits, regulatory exams, and assist in preparing reports for internal stakeholders. * Coordinate and track data governance projects and initiatives. * Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders. Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: * Strong written and verbal communication skills-comfortable interacting with both senior management and technical staff. * Proven ability to write and maintain structured documentation, including policies, procedures, and workflows. * Working knowledge of data systems, metadata, and data lifecycle concepts. * Proactive, highly organized, and detail oriented. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. * Excellent time management and organizational ability, ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines * Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative, and complex environment. * Team player and people developer - demonstrated abilities and examples of building strong teams. Industry and Work Experience: * 2 - 4 years of experience in data governance, compliance, records management, or a related field required. * Candidates with adjacent experience (e.g., business analysis, IT coordination, or regulatory support) and a strong interest in data governance are encouraged to apply. * Experience writing business processes and procedures required. * Exposure to performance metrics (KPIs/KRIs) and roadmap planning are a plus. * Experience in a banking or financial services environment preferred. Academic: * High school diploma or GED required. * Bachelor's degree in information systems, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
