Job Description:

The Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the production process, ensuring that conveyors are produced efficiently, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time.

Location:

  • On site daily, leading and driving the teams
  • Key Responsibilities:

This position will work hand and hand with the Production Control Manager

Ensure manufacturing processes are efficient and meet production targets in terms of quality, quantity, and timelines.

Manage production staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and workforce development.

Optimize use of materials, human resources, and equipment to minimize waste and enhance productivity.

Work with Quality Manager to ensure products meet or exceed customer specifications and company standards.

Process Improvement:

  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement using methodologies like Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
  • Implement new production technologies or processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all production activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.

Maintenance Coordination:

  • Work with maintenance teams to schedule preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all production equipment is in optimal working condition.

Budget Management:

  • Manage the production budget, ensuring operations stay within financial guidelines.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality.

Interdepartmental Coordination:

  • Collaborate with departments like Engineering, Procurement, Sales, and Quality Control to ensure cohesive operations.
  • Communicate between departments to streamline processes.

Reporting:

  • Compile and analyze production data to prepare reports on performance metrics like downtime, efficiency, and quality.
  • Present these findings to senior management to inform decision-making.

Project Management:

  • Lead or participate in new product development projects, ensuring manufacturability and production readiness.

Qualifications:

  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, ISO standards, and other regulatory requirements.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.

Physical and Work Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment which might include standing for long periods, occasionally lifting, and working near machinery.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights or weekends if production schedules require.
  • Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification from bodies like the American Welding Society (AWS) is highly beneficial.
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Production Management, or related fields can be advantageous.

This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, management prowess, and strategic thinking to ensure that the conveyor manufacturing plant not only operates smoothly but also stays competitive in terms of technology, quality, and cost efficiency.

Salary Range $60-$85K
