Program Duration: October 6th, 2025 - April 17th, 2026 INTERN WILL LEARN AND BE EXPOSED TO: This internship consists of two parts. Each part will be hosted by a different team: All Things Considered: October-January All Things Considered is NPR's flagship afternoon news program. We bring listeners the latest national and international news, distinctive reporting, in-depth interviews, timely commentaries, quirky stories and a broad range of arts, music, and entertainment features. Interns are actively involved in the production of the daily program. They pitch stories, conduct research, pre-interview guests, and book studios at NPR and remote locations. They work alongside program staff and assist with the live program. General Assignment Desk: January-April The General Assignment Desk sits at the heart of the newsroom, covering stories for every platform and across every beat. We prioritize timely and relevant stories that matter to audiences, as well as stepback features that surprise and engage people. Interns pitch, research and write articles; pre-interview guests for broadcast; and contribute to all parts of the newsgathering operation. They will work with correspondents and editors, both in the office and in the field, to bring stories together. This is an NPR editorial role covered under the terms of the NPR Ethics Handbook. All editorial staff are bound by this guidance. Editorial staff are defined as staff members who play a role in shaping the journalistic or creative direction of NPR's content, including events.
