The Role: We are looking for our next Manufacturing Operator I within our Pharma Solutions Operations Team. The Manufacturing Operator I is an integral part of the team and the last to see product before it goes to the customer. Manufacturing Operator I's will complete all duties necessary for safe and compliant packaging of material, such as setting up, running and troubleshooting the packaging lines; complete documentation; adhere to all GMP standards and requirements; comply with safety regulations; behave respectfully with all co-workers; and aspire to continuously improve their skills and abilities. This position is located Newark, DE. It is a shift position in a union shop, working rotating 12-hour shifts. What You'll Do:
- Operate all equipment and perform all duties in accordance with current SOP and cGMP requirements;
- Assist in all areas of plant when needed (sifter cloth change, sifter change, purge, clean, etc.);
- Accurately record and maintain all necessary records in accordance with current SOPs;
- Move finished product from the packaging areas to the designated storage area using power industrial trucks;
- Clean and adjust equipment such a sifters and baghouses according to SOPs;
- Properly conduct product sampling according to GMP requirements;
- Complete all necessary inspections and documentation for process related quality records per cGMP requirements.
- Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping in the packaging area and other areas as directed by supervision;
- Maintain and exemplify the highest standard of cleanliness and housekeeping of the production area and equipment.
- Ensure all operations are carried out in accordance with EHS policies and practices;
- Report and take necessary action to resolve unsafe conditions immediately;
- Complete training and remain current for all aspects of packaging system;
What You'll Need: Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical degree in Manufacturing or Process Technology preferred;
Experience:
- Experience in an industrial or chemical plant environmentpreferred.
- Experience with industrial plant safety rules including LOTO, PPE, permitting, confined space, etc.preferred.
- Previous experience in the food and/or pharmaceutical industriespreferred.
- Experience operating a powered industrial truck (i.e. forklift) preferred.
Work Environment
- This role spends nearly 100% of the time in manufacturing/packaging areas.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to read, write, and comprehend documents in English.
- Ability to read, spell, comprehend, and perform and apply basic math skills, minimally at a 10th Grade level.
- Excellent computer aptitude, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Solid written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to read, follow, and retain procedures, work instructions, etc.
- Ability to work as a team member in a respectful manner in a diverse work environment.
- Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include; wearing safety equipment, such as earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, hardhats, hairnets, and steel-toed shoes are required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; work in hot, cold and loud environments. Employee should be able to lift 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position with work on a 12-hour rotating shift on 2-3-2 schedule.
- Schedule may change based on facility demands and requirements.
