The base salary range for a Service Intake Specialist I is $35,000 to $45,000. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company tenure & equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.

Service Intake Specialist I

This position will review and process individual and group product eligibility requests upon verification of membership eligibility, entering applications into the processing system, ensuring they are complete as well as comply with various state regulations, governing policy forms and company policies. This is a fast-paced production position that requires attention to detail and processing accuracy.

Essential Duties:



  • Follow workflow and Procedure Flow documents to verify eligibility requirements and accurately process group/individual applications in all applicable systems
  • Achieve quality and productivity benchmarks by multi-tasking in a fast paced, high-volume environment daily
  • Utilize professional communication skills, accurate product knowledge and procedures to provide excellent customer service to groups and individuals, that is both written and spoken
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to expand knowledge and gain skills throughout the first year of service
  • May perform other duties as assigned based on department needs
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Basic knowledge of the company
  • Basic MS Office Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent customer service and professional written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential, PHI, and PII information


Required Education and Experience:



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-2 years' relevant experience or Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Or, equivalent military experience


Preferred Education and Experience:



  • Associate's degree in a business-related field
  • Previous Insurance Industry experience
