*Job Description*
*Position Summary:* We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable *Level 2 Cable Technician* to support our growing data center infrastructure. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in structured cabling, who are ready to take on more responsibility in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. *Key Responsibilities:* * Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, SM/MM fiber) in accordance with TIA/EIA and BICSI standards. * Perform advanced troubleshooting of cabling issues using tools such as OTDRs, TDRs, and certification testers. * Interpret and update network diagrams, floor plans, and cable documentation. * Lead small-scale cabling projects and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors. * Ensure proper cable routing, labeling, and management in server racks, patch panels, and cable trays. * Maintain compliance with data center standards for cleanliness, security, and operational integrity. *Required Qualifications:* * High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., BICSI Installer 2, CompTIA Network+) preferred. * Minimum 2 years of experience in structured cabling, preferably in a data center or enterprise environment. * Proficiency with cable testing and certification tools (e.g., Fluke DSX, EXFO). * Strong understanding of cable color codes, standards, and best practices. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-availability environment. * Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated spaces. *Preferred Skills:* * Familiarity with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools. * Experience with fiber splicing and fusion equipment. * Knowledge of network hardware and basic Layer 1/2 troubleshooting. *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
