Job Title: Emergency Room (ER) Technical Assistant

Shift: Full Time - 36 Hours - Midnight Shift 7AM-7PM, Weekends Included

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The ER Tech Assistant supports patient care in the emergency department under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider. This role provides hands-on assistance with clinical and non-clinical tasks, ensuring timely, safe, and compassionate care for patients of all acuity levels. Responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice and hospital protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Patient Care Support:




• Assist with basic care needs (bathing, feeding, toileting, mobility).
• Record and report vital signs and observations.
• Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).




• Clinical Support:




• Assist with procedures such as wound care, splinting, and EKGs.
• Collect and label specimens.
• Set up rooms and equipment for exams and procedures.




• Department Operations:




• Transport patients and maintain room readiness.
• Restock supplies and ensure a clean, organized environment.
• Respond in emergency/code situations as directed.




• Communication & Documentation:




• Accurately document care and report changes in condition.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
