Job Overview & Essential Functions

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. The Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic performs heavy-duty truck repair under general supervision, receiving on the job training in a development program to achieve service technician status.

This position offers the opportunity to work on industry-leading equipment including Kenworth trucks, PACCAR MX engines, and Cummins powertrains, both in-shop and through our mobile service truck program. The hourly rate for this position is $28/hr-$40/hr (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform complex mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty trucks and components.
  • Troubleshoot major issues on Kenworth, Cummins, and PACCAR MX engine systems.
  • Operate a mobile service truck to provide field service and emergency on site repairs as needed.
  • Mentor and assist in training Apprentice Technicians.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Report additional repairs or concerns to the Service Foreman.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with customers.
  • Stay current with industry advancements and OEM certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications
  • CDL preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years professional experience or graduate of vocational courses.
  • A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
  • Minimum of one specialization (e.g., engine, drivetrain, electrical).
  • Must provide own tools.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of PACCAR MX engines, Cummins diagnostics, and Kenworth systems.
  • Prior field service or mobile truck repair experience.
