Manager, Institutional Trust
The Manager, Institutional Trust manages the administration and operation of an Institutional Trust business unit(s), responsible for the delivery of services such as trustee, custody, and pension services. They are responsible for attaining budgetary sales, revenue, and expense targets for assigned business unit(s). The Manager, Institutional Trust is responsible for oversight of onboarding all new business within their assigned business unit(s) ensuring all pre-acceptance documentation is prepared, reviewed, and presented accurately.
Position Responsibilities:
Client / Account Management
- Lead and oversee the administration of Corporate, Not-for-Profit, Municipal, and Taft-Hartley trust accounts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and efficient service delivery.
- Develop and implement strategies for trust administration across account within this segment.
- Manage relationships with key clients and provide deep strategic advisory services.
- Establish expectations and metrics that ensure the highest quality and timeliness of client service.
- Oversee the resolution of complex client issues and concerns promptly and effectively.
Strategic Growth
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify opportunities to expand services within existing client relationships.
- Monitor industry trends and developments to ensure that Comerica remains competitive in the Corporate, Not-for-Profit, Municipal, and Taft-Hartley spaces.
- Engage with internal stakeholders and participate in strategic planning sessions to gather feedback and provide insights and recommendations to enhance the trust strategy.
- Monitor industry trends and developments to ensure the Corporate, not-for-profit, municipal, and Taft-Hartley team remains competitive.
Operational / Risk Responsibilities
- Conduct regular reviews of Corporate, Not-for-Profit, Municipal, and Taft-Hartley trust accounts to identify and mitigate risks and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for Captive Insurance and Advisor Solutions to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Team Management
- Recruit, train, mentor, and manage the Corporate, Not-for-Profit, Municipal, and Taft-Hartley team to ensure high performance, professional growth, and alignment to the organization's strategic goals.
- Monitor and manage the performance team of advisors and support staff, ensuring high levels of service and professional growth.
- Ensure team members are knowledgeable about relevant trust regulations and compliance requirements.
- Guide the team in applying enterprise risk management frameworks relevant to trust and specifically corporate, not-for-profit, municipal, and Taft-Hartley administration activities.
Project Leadership
- Open to being assigned to a project as a leader and/or member to accomplish a stated goal or objective.
- Provide your knowledge and skills to the project to allow for a positive outcome of the project.
- Work as a team player to collaborate on the best outcome to the project.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting
- 10 years of experience in the financial service industry
- 6 years of experience in managing individuals
- 6 years of experience in client services
Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday
Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
