DESCRIPTION

Responsible for providing first point of contact for the UCSD Health System Patient Escort, Patient Lift Team and Critical Care Transport Nurses within UCSD Healthcare. Process a high volume of calls, requests key information. Accurately document all tasks performed within area of responsibility.

Manages all requests for services in the active queue of the patient flow application. Dispatches and coordinates transport and lift requests, including nurse transports. Make calls to modalities and the floors to clarify requests and to provide updates of delays and status. Coordinates the operations of the department during the shift, including monitoring scheduled breaks, and shift end times. Troubleshoots and resolves issues as they occur.

Consistently demonstrates an advanced level of expertise and enhanced communication skills. Maintains records pertinent to Lift and Transport Team activities. Promotes an environment of safe patient handling, and maintains a safe work environment for patience care providers. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum two (2) years previous experience working in a call center environment, preferably in a healthcare setting.

  • Experience managing multi-line phones.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.

  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

  • Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Administrative support experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Medical terminology training and/or certificate.
  • Experience with EPIC.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • May have possible exposure to biological, chemical, and radioactive hazards.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $33,900 - $72,996 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $16.24 - $34.96

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
