- Conceptualizes and creates meaningful and creative written content to support high-impact communications and marketing initiatives for Rutgers.
- Creates compelling content across all communications channels and formats to elevate the university's brand, strategic priorities, and presidential initiatives.
- Researches, writes, and edits diverse materials, manages high-profile projects aligned with institutional goals, and collaborates across departments to develop engaging content that showcases Rutgers' achievements.
- Employs distinct writing styles, tailored to specific purposes and audiences and provides crucial editorial support for their own work and the work of others.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field, and five (5) years of relevant experience in communications, editorial, or marketing role; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge, skill, and understanding of writing, editing, proofreading, publishing, marketing, content development, and communications.

- A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to communicate and work effectively and efficiently with diverse groups within the university (administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni).
- Superior writing and editing skills and ability to write in different styles for various assignments (marketing, news reporting, feature writing, social media, testimonials).
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with ability to "roll up sleeves" and execute program deliverables.
- Ability to analyze data and use metrics to adjust, track usage, and determine effectiveness.
- Completes work independently and collaboratively.
- Computer literacy and web and social media savvy. Experience working in a web content management system.
- Knowledge and ability to apply editorial style guides.
- Demonstrated knowledge of developing and maintaining website content and latest trends and best practices in digital communications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of the print process.
- MS Office Suite competency.

- Experience as a communications professional at an institution of higher learning. Master's degree.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
