Title: Staff Accountant

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Location: Kent, WA; onsite

Schedule Type: Full Time/Exempt, Monday through Friday 7:30A to 4:00P


Position Summary


The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Accounting Manager and the Finance team in all accounting functions. The position will perform moderately complex accounting functions in relation to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger accounting, and other general accounting functions. Additionally, the role has an emphasis on accurate and timely financial reporting, regulatory compliance, internal controls and documentation, and continuous process improvement. The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the month/quarter/year-end close processes, reporting requirements, and periodic audits with guidance and support from the Accounting Manager. The role will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Accounting Manager to perform the close processes and required reporting; work with the Accounting Manager to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting in accordance with GAAP Accounting and Corporate Policies
  • Prepare Journal entries
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Back-up accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
  • Manage the accounting of capital projects and fixed assets
  • Prepare periodic operational reporting
  • Research, track, and resolve issues and discrepancies in recurring assignments in accordance with previous training and experience
  • Prioritize daily workload to consistently meet deadlines
  • Review and improve daily processes and tasks to expedite and improve workflow
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening



Education/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree Accounting (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred, but not required)
  • 0-2 years of relevant accounting/finance experience
  • 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience with ERP systems (Infor SyteLine a plus)
  • Proficient with MS Suite, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • General understanding of GAAP



Essential Mental/Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods. Extensive use of hands in writing, computer and other office equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 annually, placement in the range depends upon experience and qualifications.
