Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Director of Decision Support and Analysis for the Office of Institutional Research.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Leads the Decision Support & Analysis team in delivering data-driven research projects-recurring and ad hoc-that advance institutional priorities with rigorous methods .
- Sets strategic vision and steers team operations across a multidisciplinary analytics portfolio-predictive modeling, institutional research, and data visualization-to deliver high-impact decision support on enrollment, student success, and resource allocation.
- Collaborates closely with the Director of Reporting and Compliance and the Director of Technology to advance the research analytics and support data-informed decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's degree in applied mathematics, statistics, social science, or a related field or discipline.
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in Institutional Research, Institutional Effectiveness, or comparable analytical and decision support work within an academic unit, including at least three years of experience managing professional staff in an academic setting.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical language and analyses to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Ph.D. and eight years of practical data experience in an institutional research environment.
- Five years at a four-year higher education institution.
- Experience with using and deploying AI tools, especially in an academic research context.
- Experience with statistical languages and tools.
- Experience with hands-on visualization tools (example: Tableau, Power BI.)
- Experience with machine-learning frameworks.
