Senior Java Back End Developer

BigBear.ai is seeking a Senior Java Back End Developer with cloud experience to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career in Ashburn, VA.

• Working closely with the tech lead and senior developers and participate in the system architecture design, development, integration testing and validation, and all aspects of the software life cycle (requirements to design to implementation to test) for a java back-end application involving extensive Messaging and Transaction processing
• Must be hands on and be able to design and develop Java code as dictated by project requirements as needed
• Expected to learn and adhere to the continuous integration, automated unit testing and other AGILE practices established within the team using the tools that are currently used by the team
• Expected to diagnose and fix issues in existing application components as part of maintenance
  

• Bachelor's Degree and 8 to 10 years of experience
• Python experience is a must
• Java design and software development experience including designing, developing, and documenting large-scale enterprise software systems
• Experience with NoSQL DBs like MongoDB, DocumentDB, DynamoDB etc
• Docker and Kubernetes experience
• Experience with Micro Services frameworks such as Spring Boot/Spring
• AWS cloud experience
• SQL DBs (preferably Oracle)
• XML/JSON
• Unix/Linux
• Experience with JDBC/JPA/Hibernate and SQL

• Have an interest in Automation testing
• Familiarity with UI automation tools (Playwright, Cucumber, Jest, etc.)
• First-hand experience working with large project teams (working with the Federal Government a strong plus)
• Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions to software problems
• React, TypeScript, Angular/AngularJS
• Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools (Git, Gradle, Maven)
• Agile development experience a plus
• JEE Server experience (Weblogic\Websphere\JBOSS\etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to incorporate Unit testing as part of development activities
• Gitlab/JIRA/Jenkins for CI/CD
