We are looking for a Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Operations to join our Institutional business. You will be responsible for developing and leading strategic initiatives to expand market penetration within the assigned region, sector, or customer portfolio. As well as identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities and strategic partnerships, driving sustainable revenue growth while strengthening the Solenis brand and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.

You will focus on growing business and improving Solenis' market position within a specific geography or sector or set of customers, leading the creation and implementation of sales initiatives aligned with the Corporate Accounts team growth strategy to expand our market share.

You will oversee the development of market intelligence to inform business decisions and provide strategic insights to marketing and technology teams, whilst building and nurturing relationships with key executives and strategic customers to strengthen long-term partnerships and drive business growth.

Another key responsibility is to guide the Commercial Excellence team in designing and executing strategies that enhance sales effectiveness, including pipeline management, value proposition development, and performance monitoring. Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and alignment between strategic planning and frontline execution to drive sustained growth across major customers.

Other responsibilities:

  • Define and lead enterprise-level business development strategies, translating long-term growth objectives into actionable annual plans aligned with corporate goals and revenue targets.
  • Manage the P&L of key accounts and, new initiatives ensuring sales and profitability targets are achieved.
  • Partner with regional and global leaders, including account management and commercial teams, to deeply understand evolving market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
  • Identify and validate new market segments and strategic growth opportunities for North America, building business cases to investment and cross-functional commitment.
  • Establish strategic priorities for market development initiatives and set ambitious, measurable revenue, margin targets.
  • Provide executive-level guidance and mentorship to commercial and technical teams, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with the organization's value proposition and innovation pipeline.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in technical sales or business development, along with B2B sales experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, along with an MBA, is required.
  • Experience with specialty chemical and distribution.
  • Proven track record of increasing sales revenue year over year to Institutional customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor sales professional and successfully team sell.
  • Make decisions, balancing customer's needs and company objectives.
  • Ability to build customer relationships quickly; versatile across different styles.
  • Ability to influence others through direct and indirect methods.
  • Sensitive to new business opportunities and creative approaches to gain
  • Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of people in the organization
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience coaching and mentorship of sales professionals.
  • Expected travel to be 30% and will depend on the size of the assigned territory/customer base.

This role will be based in our Wilmington, DE, headquarters full time. #LI-onsite
