Job Summary |
The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for data management of large datasets, analysis of various datasets associated with the general education assessment, Auburn University strategic plan, and
AUBURNACHIEVE (Quality Enhancement Plan aimed at enhancing career outcome success). The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for choosing and asking important research questions and implementing the appropriate analysis of the data and reporting results (written and oral communication of results). In addition, the Graduate Assistant may also be responsible for facilitating conversations with a diverse audience about use of data for improvement.
The Graduate Assistant must have excellent data management, measurement/psychometric, and statistical analysis skills. The Graduate Assistant should be good at brief report writing and the visualization of complex datasets.
The Office of Academic Insight anticipates there will be opportunities to lead projects, streamline processes, and enhance communication skills with this position. |
Essential Functions |
- Manage incoming Campus Engagement and Experience Survey (CEES) Data
- Manage incoming First Destination Survey Data
- Manage incoming SCORE data
- Merge and analyze SCORE data in conjunction with multiple other data sources
- Merge and analyze student outcome data to answer valuable educational research questions.
- Report educational research findings (written, oral, visual)
This position will apply functional knowledge, skills, and abilities from the educational program that are related to providing clinical and educational services, developing basic principles of and applications of behavior analysis, and implementing behaviorally based assessments. The benefits added to the student's educational experience will be enhancing the ability to apply the theory and practice of behavior analysis and experiencing practical and research experience for a variety of social and behavior problems.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Enrolled Graduate Student
- Working towards graduate degree at AU with coursework in measurement, assessment, statistics and/or analytics, big data, data visualization, or psychology.
- Prior experience working with large datasets
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Excellent planning and time management skills
- Ability to convey complex information in a way that people understand
- Willing to take initiative, support OAI team members, prioritize tasks, and execute assignments promptly. They should also have a positive attitude, good sense of humor, and be excellent representatives of Auburn University.
- Dress appropriately for an office work environment.
