Certified Clinical Physicist

General Summary of Position

MedStar Health is looking for a Certified Clinical Physicist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital!

The person in this position provides clinical physics and dosimetry services related to radiation oncology patient treatment. The physicist, as a member of the clinical team, provides support to the Department Chair and the Radiation Physics Division Chief in support of the departmental clinical and academic missions. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards

Primary Duties:

• Delivers high-quality radiation physics services to ensure the accurate and safe administration of ionizing radiation, including dose calculations, equipment calibration, and treatment verification.
• Oversees and maintains comprehensive quality assurance programs for clinical equipment and software to ensure safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Supervises dosimetrists and provides clinical coverage, supporting uninterrupted patient care and individualized treatment planning.
• Contributes to departmental operations including equipment procurement, policy development, and compliance with standards set by the USNRC, JCAHO, and other regulatory bodies.
• Supports education and research initiatives through training, mentorship, and participation in scholarly activities, including clinical development and publication efforts

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in clinical physics (required)

Licenses/ Certifications:

• The Clinical Physicist shall be board certified by the American Board of Radiology or by the MPC - Medical Physics Certification upon hire (required)

This position has a hiring range of $157,996.80 - $336,502.40
