Description
We seek an experienced and enthusiastic Manager of Technology Training and Adoption to partner with clinical, operational, revenue cycle, and Information Services (IS) leaders to design and deliver an enterprise technology training program. This critical enabling role, reporting to the Director of Technology Training and Adoption, will have the opportunity to build and grow an Epic-certified training team who will ensure all Children's National staff are well-prepared and proficient in using our new Epic electronic health record and related applications. Your team will promote a continuous learning model to advance user adoption and system mastery. Your expertise in health care workflows, information technology, and instructional design will empower our staff to leverage technology with competence and confidence, improving patient safety, care delivery, business processes, and the overall experience for patients, families, and colleagues every day.

Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's Degree, Bachelor's degree in health care, education, information technology, health care administration, or a related field is advantageous. (Required)
- Master's Degree, Master's or other advanced degree in health care, education, information technology, health care administration, or a related field is advantageous. (Preferred)
Minimum Work Experience
- 7 years, Minimum of seven years of clinical, operational, revenue cycle, technical, and/or training experience with health information technology, including electronic health records and other clinical or practice management applications. Experience with the Epic EHR is advantageous. (Required)
- 5 years, Five years of experience in staff onboarding, adult education, curriculum development, instructional design, and/or training delivery, preferably in a health care setting. (Required)
- 2 years, Two years of management or leadership experience in a related field. (Required)

- Project Management: Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple initiatives simultaneously, including overseeing successful and fast-paced implementations of enterprise software including the electronic health record (EHR).
- Education: Knowledgeable in instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles. Proficient in using e-learning authoring tools, learning management systems (LMS), and virtual training platforms. Demonstrated experience enabling end user competency, confidence, continuous learning, and system mastery.
- Technical: Strong expertise in health information technology, including electronic health records and related systems. Familiarity with cross-venue clinical workflows and health care operations, including revenue cycle, analytics, and other business processes.

Required Licenses and Certifications
- This position requires that the appropriate Epic certification be successfully obtained and maintained for the assigned area of responsibility within 6 weeks of completing training, if not obtained prior to hire. 60 Days, (Required)
Functional Accountabilities
- Leadership and Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive training and adoption strategy for the EHR and related applications. Collaborate with IS and hospital leadership and departmental stakeholders to align training initiatives with organizational goals. Provide day-to-day supervision of training team members and foster their growth and professional development.
- Training Program Development: Design, develop, and implement training programs tailored to all user groups, including clinical and patient care services, operations, communications, revenue cycle, and administrative staff across departments. Ensure training materials are up-to-date and reflect best practices. Guide training team to maintain a focus on learning experiences that are specific to our organization's values and policies, technical environment, and role-based workflows, while promoting standard work and high reliability practices. Emphasize integration with clinical and operational workflows and prioritize patient safety and family experience, staff efficacy and efficiency, data integrity, regulatory compliance, and revenue cycle and other strategic outcomes.
- Implementation and Go-Live Readiness: Oversee the timely preparation, organization, execution, and tracking of activities for new IS system go-lives and planned upgrades, ensuring all operations users are adequately trained and supported during system transitions. Coordinate with IS and project management teams to ensure seamless integration with organizational strategy and coordinated communication.
- Change Management: Stay current with EHR and other system updates and changes, incorporating them into training materials and sessions. Support change management efforts in collaboration with clinical informatics, revenue cycle, and departmental leaders to foster a culture of continuous learning and agile adaptation. Address resistance and promote the benefits of new applications, features, and workflows to all stakeholders.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and user adoption of key systems and workflows. Monitor end user performance and provide ongoing support to ensure sustained proficiency and progressive mastery.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IS teams, department leaders and super users, and external vendors to ensure training programs meet the needs of all users. Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of training materials and methodologies, user guides, and support resources. Ensure accessibility and ease of use for all staff members. Enable multiple channels of organizational and targeted communication.
- Organizational Support: Perform other duties as assigned to support IS and organizational priorities.
