Summary
Responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient coding practices within the healthcare industry. Will be focused on analyzing medical records and converting healthcare procedures, diagnoses, and services into universally recognized codes. Essential Functions: -Serve as a subject matter expert in clinical coding and provide guidance to coding teams regarding accurate and compliant coding practices. -Answer queries related to coding rules, regulations, and standards. -Review coded medical records to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and standards, and provide feedback and coaching to coding professionals to improve accuracy and quality. -Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within the coding workflow. -Collaborate with stakeholders to implement best practices and streamline coding operations. -Assist in the implementation and integration of coding systems and tools, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to workflow. -Provide training and support to coding teams during the adoption of new coding technologies. -Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify documentation, resolve coding-related issues, and ensure accurate representation of patient care in medical records.
