Instructor or Assistant Professor - Audiology Program

The MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications for a clinical faculty position in the Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). Applicants with a track record of, or potential for, excellent teaching and clinical supervision at the graduate level are encouraged to apply. In addition to classroom instruction, student supervision in our on-campus clinic, and service to the AuD program, the successful candidate will assist with the development of our new Audiology Graduate Certificate Program scheduled to launch in June 2026. Areas of expertise that will enhance instruction and clinical training within the audiology program include audiometric behavioral and objective measures, advanced audiometry, vestibular assessment, counseling, and others. This is a 12-month appointment beginning on or after September 1, 2025.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in audiology and/or hearing science from an accredited institution

5 years post-graduation experience in clinical audiology

Eligible for MA state licensure in audiology

Desirable Qualifications:

ASHA certification (CCC-A)

Graduate-level teaching experience

Record of student mentorship and/or clinical supervision

Evidence of service in higher education or the audiology profession

Experience in, or potential for, developing program curriculum

About Us:

The AuD program joins an interprofessional team of highly ranked programs in the CSD department and the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. These include master's and clinical doctoral programs in Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Genetic Counseling, as well as the research program in Rehabilitation Sciences (PhD). Located in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston, the MGH Institute is an autonomous graduate school affiliated with Mass General Brigham, which includes the Massachusetts General Hospital, Mass Eye and Ear, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, as well as a physician's network, community health centers, and other health care entities.

The AuD program includes clinical training opportunities through an on-campus satellite clinic in our Impact Practice Center operated by Mass Eye and Ear. Clinical training is also provided to students for clients seen in our pro-bono Audiology Collaborative for Better Hearing. The AuD program also enjoys affiliations with numerous clinical partners in Boston which offers unparalleled opportunities for faculty and students to learn and work alongside expert practitioners in a variety of hospital, clinical, and community settings.
