Responsibilities

We are looking for a Mid-Level Systems Engineer with specialized experience in Hyperspectral Imagery (HSI) to join our growing team supporting high-visibility GEOINT missions across the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and other federal agencies.

If you have a passion for spectral data integration and want to shape the future of intelligence systems, this is your opportunity to play a critical role in advancing the United States' national security capabilities.

Integrating Hyperspectral Imagery (HSI) data into exploitation tools and enterprise systems to support advanced geospatial analysis.

  • Translating user and mission needs into structured system and capability requirements focused on HSI capabilities.

  • Designing and evaluating system solutions that enhance HSI exploitation performance and resiliency.

  • Performing requirements engineering, architecture decomposition, and systems integration with a focus on remote sensing and spectral data systems.

  • Supporting testing, validation, and traceability of spectral imaging capabilities across DoD and IC programs.

  • Evaluating spectral data workflows, cloud-based service constraints, and platform scheduling as part of broader architecture assessments.

  • Participating in Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), trade studies, and strategic planning to drive HSI system evolution.

Qualifications

Peraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligible to participate in an attractive bonus plan.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Imagery Analysis, or a related STEM discipline (or 6+ years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree).

  • 6+ years of experience in systems engineering within government or industry.

  • Proven experience with Hyperspectral Imagery (HSI) or spectral data integration into analysis or exploitation environments.

  • Experience supporting the DoD/IC acquisition lifecycle, requirements processes, and complex enterprise architectures.

  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and principles.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI clearance and successfully pass a polygraph.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior work with NGA, NSG/ASG, or IC/DoD programs is highly desirable.
