Senior Manager, Health, Safety, and Environment - Client Sites

The Senior Manager of Client Site Safety is responsible for the development, deployment, and oversight of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs for all offsite and client-based operations across high-risk industries. This role serves as the global subject matter expert for client HSE integration and ensures Accenture employees and subcontractors operate safely, in compliance with client and regulatory requirements, while protecting the companys people, reputation, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership and Development

  • Develop and maintain integrated HSE protocols that align Accenture standards with varying client safety procedures.
  • Lead the creation of incident reporting and investigation frameworks that include client involvement, internal escalation, and closure tracking.
  • Define emergency response plans and readiness protocols tailored to different client geographies and risk profiles.
  • Oversee HSE plans for risk assessments Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), PPE, training needs, communications, audits, and incident management.
  • Manage or support acquisition integration of acquired company HSE programs into existing Accenture HSE programs including new client requirements.

Client Interface and High-Risk Contract Oversight

  • Act as global SME on client-site safety requirements; support account teams in interpreting and complying with client HSE expectations.
  • Engage in high-risk client contracts to define and audit contractual safety obligations.
  • Represent Accenture in client safety meetings, joint investigations, and compliance reviews.

Monitoring, Auditing, and Reporting

  • Design and implement auditing and monitoring mechanisms to assess compliance with Accenture and client HSE standards.
  • Maintain a contract HSE database including legal obligations, common clauses, and critical compliance metrics.
  • Oversee compliance dashboards, field performance tracking, and proactive trend analysis.

Culture, Communication, and Emergency Support

  • Serve as point of contact for any client-site incident or emergency impacting Accenture personnel.
  • Champion field safety culture through toolbox talks, monthly meetings, communications, and positive reinforcement.
  • Provide guidance on environmental protection: waste, spills, run-time minimization, and environmental stewardship.

Operational Integration and Liaison

  • Collaborate with Global HSE, Legal, HR, and Operations to ensure safety is embedded in contracts, project plans, and business development.
  • Ensure subcontractors meet HSE standards and contractual safety obligations.
  • Serve as the escalation point for Stop Work Authority and contractor support.
  • Oversee site roll-off procedures including drug testing pool removal, training deactivation, and medical surveillance closure.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Health, Safety, & Environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with field/client site safety in high-risk industries (Oil & Gas, Construction, Mining).
  • Experience building HSE Programs for organizations and or clients
  • Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHST, or local equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DOT, (or local regulatory bodies) and international safety standards.
  • Specialized Subject Matter Expert certifications (Laser Safety Officer (LSO); Radiation Safety Officer (RSO); etc.)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York or Washington as set forth below.
