The Henry Ford St. John Hospital Oncology Research Department focuses on the study of cancer, including cancer care, treatment, and potential cures. We coordinate national studies through our Michigan Cancer Consortium NCORP affiliation and industry-sponsored studies. The department supports study participants at 3 main locations, in Detroit (Van Elslander Cancer Center), Warren (Webber Cancer Center) and Macomb Township (23-mile clinic). The RN- Coordinator has a pivotal role in the conduct of our clinical research studies and clinical trials. The primary responsibilities of the role include following ICH-GCP and institutional processes in the conduct of the clinical trials including but not limited to identification of potential study participants, participating in the informed consent process coordinating the participants journey though the clinical trials. The combination of attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills and a personable nature are essential for effective collaboration and building relationships across multiple stakeholders. General Summary: Performs nursing functions independently and in collaboration with physician investigator to ensure that the objectives of an established research protocol are met and in compliance with IRB and sponsor guidelines. Identifies and recruits patients into study protocols as needed. Provides for educational and/or emotional support to patients enrolled in the study protocol. Is responsible for managing the study documentation and data collection for the study, and preparing and monitoring the budgets as needed. Supports physician investigators and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate project participation and compliance. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
