Main Purpose of the Job:

The Credit & Collections Representative will manage a portfolio of customer accounts receivable. This role contacts customers with delinquent accounts and initiates appropriate collection activity to bring the account to its current position.

Key Accountabilities:

Credit:




  • Recommends credit holds.






  • Works to reconcile unapplied payments to customer's accounts.






  • Release hold tickets within company guidelines when customer is in good standing.






  • May recommend a credit line increase when appropriate.




Collections:



  • Contacts customers on a daily basis regarding their past due A/R balance.





  • Contacts customer regarding any NSF checks.




Customer Service:



  • Provides excellent customer service by displaying a professional attitude to both external & internal customers.





  • Works directly with customers and sales force to resolve disputes and to resolve credit hold issues.




Administrative:



  • Assist manager with preparation of notice filings, bond claims and/or legal matters.





  • Prepare release of liens as a backup when branch administrators are out of the office





  • Send letters of demand when they are appropriate.





Education and/or Experience



  • Associates degree from college or technical school or





  • 3+ years related experience and/or training;





  • Collection experience in construction field.





  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.





Requirements




  • Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and with little supervision






  • Demonstrate good time management skills






  • Possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills






  • Ability to set goals and meet deadlines






  • Possess excellent customer service skills






  • Demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner






  • Possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution






  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with co-workers and management






  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
