Initial application deadline is 7/14/2025 DESCRIPTIONReporting to the Training Lead or Change Management Lead, this position serves as a Senior Trainer for the Student Information System (SIS) Project, which is part of the multi-year campus-wide Enterprise Systems Renewal (ESR) Program. This transformative effort aims to streamline core business and administrative processes at UC San Diego, providing comprehensive solutions for course scheduling, enrollment services, academic records, curriculum management, student finances, and financial aid. Under direction of the Training Lead and Change Management Lead, the Senior Trainer applies adult learning methodology to plan, develop, and deliver training on large-scale system changes impacting tens of thousands of students, faculty, and staff. Key responsibilities include designing interactive learning experiences, creating microlearning modules, developing performance support tools, and implementing measurement strategies to track training effectiveness. This position will collaborate with project stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure comprehensive perspective integration while maintaining clear communication channels throughout the project lifecycle. A successful Senior Trainer is a self-motivated professional who demonstrates strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, proactive communication, and intellectual curiosity. This role involves a great deal of autonomy and requires strategic thinking to align training with organizational goals, a high tolerance for ambiguity when facing changes, and the ability to independently make sound decisions. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating independently, synthesizes complex information effectively, anticipates potential issues, and proposes creative solutions to emerging challenges with minimal oversight. They must possess proficiency with course authoring, graphics, and presentation software for developing web-based training, while demonstrating astute judgment to adapt their approach based on stakeholder needs. The incumbent leverages expertise in instructional design, project management, and organizational change management to develop comprehensive learning ecosystems without extensive supervision. They demonstrate resourcefulness in overcoming obstacles, transparency in progress reporting, and exceptional prioritization skills when managing competing demands. This position navigates complex training requirements across multiple systems and diverse user groups, requiring a reliable, resilient, and forward-thinking team member who consistently delivers high-quality training solutions. QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $69,500 - $123,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $33.29 - $59.15 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
