Job Summary Responsible for reviewing production requirements, supporting production schedules, and maintaining customer service requirements for purchased material and services. Responsible for planning, procurement, and maintaining a satisfactory level of material and/or component inventory while maintaining the accuracy of inventory transactions.

Salary Range: $23.45-$32.95/hour

Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities
  • Focuses on purchasing equipment parts/spares, and indirect materials that would include but not limited to services, production supplies, and consumables.
  • Coordinates activities involved with procuring purchased material. Conducts purchasing activities in compliance with company policy and stated objectives.
  • Confers with suppliers to obtain information such as price, availability, and delivery schedules of purchases materials. Be able to effectively interact with all levels of supplier management and customers.
  • Participates in supplier meetings and assists with resolution of supplier quality issues.
  • Analyze the Material Requirements Plan (MRP) generation report to determine ordering, expediting and de-expediting of parts as necessary to support Master Production Schedule (MPS). This includes maintaining an adequate supply of material to support the MPS
  • Prepares requisitions and purchase orders for purchase material. Interfaces with suppliers on initiation and follow-up. Processes change orders and revisions.
  • Prioritizes purchases material for Quality Assurance approval to support MPS.
  • Determines and assigns raw material parts for production using the First In- First Out (FIFO) method. Ensures all raw material parts have accurate inventory balances and transactions in SAP to correspond with the master batch record.
  • Minimizes the amount of on-hand inventory through careful planning and execution of the MPS. Reviews Obsolete and Excessive Inventory and actively pursues the elimination of obsolete inventory.
  • Coordinates the implementation of new parts to minimize obsolete inventory and comply with all GMP requirements.
  • Responsible for raw material and component inventory dollars as compared to budget and supporting the MPS to avoid backorder of products through planning and procurement practices.
  • Actively involved with the regulatory revision changes pertaining to raw/component materials. Ensures revision of a material is implemented per the Document Change Control (DCR) approval process. Discards obsolete raw materials.
  • Ensures the accuracy of inventory (batch record and SAP transactions).
  • Maintains proper supply of inventory to support production with minimum capital investment.
  • Follows all applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree with minimum 1 year related experience OR Associates with 3 year related experience OR High School/GED with 5 years related experience
  • Must have knowledge of SAP, and more specifically, the MM and WM SAP modules. Prefer implementation experience.
  • Must have knowledge of purchasing, production planning, inventory control, and distribution techniques and theory.
  • Prefer a background in the pharmaceutical industry or experience in a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrate effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, suppliers, and customers.
