As a grief counselor, you will play a pivotal role in providing compassionate support and guidance to patients, families, and staff during some of life's most challenging moments. This position will serve the Owatonna hospice team. This position will work from a home office and will provide both virtual and in person counseling to the bereaved. The expectation will be to attend some in person meetings as well which usually take place in either Faribault, Northfield or Owatonna. Key Position Details: 0.5 FE (40 hours per 2-week pay period) Day/Evening shifts No weekends Partially Remote Role Candidates living within an hour's driving distance of Owatonna are Preferred. Provides counseling and support to internal and external customers. Serves as a member and active participant with the interdisciplinary team. Principle Responsibilities Develops and implements bereavement care plans for patients and families. Counsels. Provides counseling to family members of the patient. Conducts home visits, assessments, and provides support before and after patient death. Participates in interdisciplinary Hospice team. Provides support to staff. Leads team in death discussions. Leads Remembrance ritual. Attends case consultations. Participates in the orientation of new employees and volunteers. Plans and facilitates therapeutic support groups and retreats. Collaborates in program development. Educates. Provides grief education to internal and external partners. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Spiritual Direction, or 2 to 5 years of experience in counseling, social work, spiritual care Licenses/Certifications Ordained Minister in lieu of Master's degree required Valid Driver's License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver's license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment Physical Demands Sedentary - Lifting weight to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently Pay Range Pay Range: $30.39 to $41.65 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
