Contracts Manager The Contracts Manager is responsible for the negotiation and preparation of contractual provisions and the administration of contracts and subcontracts. Performs a variety of complex tasks and advises internal departments regarding contract requirements. Position negotiates, prepares, manages contracts, and performs contract closeouts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This position includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises employees in the Contracts Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret government contracts, federal clauses, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contract Management systems; Database software; Project Management software; Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with Deltek software a plus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Travel Must have the ability to travel a minimum of 10%. May include air travel.
