James Madison University (JMU) is seeking a Wage (part-time) Recycling Worker. This is a great opportunity to join an organization that is continuously growing!
This is a year-round position, with a schedule of Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 1:00 pm. Overtime is required for special events and inclement weather. Duties and Responsibilities: This position involves picking up ground litter, sorting recyclables, and emptying indoor and outdoor recycling bins across all campus locations. Qualifications: Required: * Demonstrated ability to lift 30-50 pounds repeatedly with or without an accommodation. * Ability to work independently. * Ability to walk and be on your feet through most of a six-hour shift. * Ability to provide excellent customer service. * Be willing to handle various items of trash and have the ability to work predominately outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. * This position is essential and will require working as needed for inclement weather and occasional weekends. * Applicants must be at least 19 years old with a valid driver's license and must have possessed a valid driver's license for a minimum of 24 months total. * Must have the ability to drive safely and responsibly in a campus environment. * Ability to use a golf cart-style vehicle and/or pick-up truck with mirror backing in tight, crowded spaces. This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
