Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to grow and strengthen communities in a dynamic and supportive environment? We're seeking a passionate, skilled, and motivated Transportation Planner to join our team. If you're ready to make an impact and take your career to the next level, we want to hear from you! What You'll Do:
- Apply planning techniques on a wide range of project types.
- Prepare and complete planning tasks that are responsive to project needs including the production of planning documents, maps, surveys, reports and the facilitation of public meetings and steering committee meetings.
- Conduct field observations and data collection activities. Develop project schedule for each project that identifies milestones, appropriate planning techniques to be applied, stakeholders and overall project objectives and analyze technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
- Manage projects by coordinating with the client and coordinating with the design team on support milestones, which may include various disciplines.
- Schedule and prepare required support materials and attend various meetings with clients and stakeholders as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Basic knowledge of transportation engineering concepts, principles, theories, and methods required to plan, design, and engineer facilities such as highways, streets, bridges, and multi-modal facilities.
- Knowledge in GIS software and ability to read specific plans and blueprints.
- Proficiency in the application of planning techniques on a wide range of project types.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Bachelor's degree in Planning or relevant area of study.
