Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Operate Air Liquide industrial gas pipeline networks in real-time, including optimizing production facilities. Coordinate with production facilities, field personnel, and customers to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient product supply and network operation.
  • Operate Air Liquide's industrial gas pipeline systems and associated production assets in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner

  • Use SCADA to monitor and control remotely operated valve stations, meter stations, and plants

  • Interface and coordinate with plant operations, field pipeline technicians, customer operations, and management in real-time

  • Use SCADA data and trends to analyze situations, diagnose issues, and resolve incidents

  • Safely manage crisis and emergency situations to ensure safety of operation and integrity of supply

  • Follow operational procedures and strategies

  • Monitor alarms and resolve or escalate accordingly

  • Document all communication and operational incidents in the electronic logbook

  • Apply hydraulic and energy optimization principles to optimize the pipeline network

  • Achieve qualification to operate a PHMSA-regulated pipeline system

  • Utilize spreadsheet- and web-based tools including power schedules, optimizers, and inventory tracking

  • Maintain compliance with PHMSA Control Room Management regulations

  • Operate in accordance with company safety standards

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational procedures, processes, and tools

  • Utilize Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar, Meet) for documentation and communication

  • Work a 12-hour shift on the Dupont schedule, plus office/training days and rotating on-call (this role is eligible for overtime pay)

  • Reliably arrive at work on time and fit for duty

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial IT, or Process Controls), Physics, Technology or related sciences required

Ideal candidate has combination of technical background and operations experience.

  • Good understanding of pipeline hydraulics and control valve functionality

  • Computer proficiency, including spreadsheet-based tools and industrial HMIs

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to type quickly and accurately
