Your Job

John Zink is seeking regional Environmental Specialist based in our manufacturing facility in Tulsa, OK, with limited support of locations in Wichita, KS, Uxbridge Canada, Norwich NY, and Cypress TX. This position will report to the ET&S EHS Leader for North America. This pivotal role will serve as a key business partner within our ET&S organization, focusing on advancing our environmental performance and contributing to our overarching EHS vision. This role offers continuous learning and development opportunities; we are seeking someone with initiative who can drive innovation within the environmental space.

Environmental requirements for facility locations supported by this position include RCRA, SPCC, Air Emissions, NESHAP6X, SWPPP & Stormwater, and MBTA compliance. Position assists with, and provides information to corporate compliance for PFAS, GHG, or other global environmental requirements.

Regional travel requirements up to 25%

What You Will Do

  • Actively engage with operations teams to ensure compliance with environmental standards and promote stewardship initiatives.
  • Serve as an expert advisor on environmental matters, working closely with operations teams to understand business activities, assess potential impacts on environmental programs, and ensure alignment with our EHS vision.
  • Continuously develop, enhance, and communicate environmental policies, procedures, programs and strategies to maintain high standards.
  • Collaborate effectively to achieve the EHS vision, foster employee ownership, ensure aligned leadership commitment, and implement efficient management systems.
  • Partner with site leaders to incorporate environmental risk management into organizational responsibilities and expectations.
  • Facilitate and manage training sessions on environmental programs and handle program updates effectively.
  • Demonstrate experience in conducting audits, inspections, and investigations, and in developing corrective actions and opportunities for continual improvement.
  • Manage and provide leadership for routine and unannounced onsite government interactions.
  • Innovate methods to manage environmental metrics and data, enhancing visibility and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) performance.
  • Participation in steering committees for PFAS, GHG, or other corporate teams focused on environmental compliance.
  • Management of environmental consultants as needed.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in an Environmental role with proven site leadership abilities
  • Experience working independently while managing multiple complex issues simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing Environmental program policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience with presenting to groups

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Degree in an Environmental or EHS-related field or equivalent experience in an Environmental role with proven leadership capabilities.
  • PSM/RMP and ISO14001 experience
  • Experience with PowerBI (or other analytics programs), Enablon, or Articulate
