The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) Test Engineering Division (TEN) is currently seeking an Associate Branch Head (ABH) for the Test Systems Branch (TSB). TEN conducts applied research in the Test and Evaluation (T&E) of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. Primary research areas include development of complex hardware and software systems to enable open and closed loop testing of EW systems in the laboratory, development of automated test tools, RF and EO/IR threat environment generation, and tool sets to enable EW test data analysis. The TSB branch performs test systems design work and focuses on developing system-specific tests systems for specific EW and avionics systems.

Lead and contribute technically to sponsored research projects. Assist Branch Head with staffing, appraisals, hiring and technical research activities.

• Provide oversight of active programs within the branch to include monitoring finances, schedule and tasking
• Train and mentor branch researchers and students in research areas and facilitate publication of novel research activities
• Direct business development activities to include sponsor engagement and promoting branch capabilities with external organizations
• Develop proposals and white papers for sustained branch growth
• Support the branch head conducting administrative actions including branch hiring, appraisals, timesheets and purchase requisitions
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Experience in technical program management
• Experience leading, training and/or coaching researchers and students

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance
• Experience leading research projects
• Experience managing researchers and students
• Experience with white papers and research proposal development

10% - 25% travel
