Job Summary

The Community Affairs Strategic Communications Partner role will be responsible for setting and executing strategy to strengthen Corewell Health's presence, trust and impact within the communities we serve. As a member of the Community Affairs leadership team, this individual will lead strategic, systemwide initiatives that advance organization reputation, foster meaningful engagement, align outreach efforts with civic and business organizations, and expand Corewell Health's partner strategy.
This role requires exceptional collaboration and leadership with multidisciplinary teams, including marketing, government affairs, human resources, Corewell Health foundations, facilities, strategic planning and community health impact and belonging. They will plan, develop and launch a unified community engagement roadmap, ensuring alignment across departments and tracking impact through data-informed strategies.
The partner, in coordination with the community affairs leadership team, will guide the design and implementation of a customer relationship management (CRM) platform specific to community engagement, enabling seamless tracking of outreach activities, partnerships, contacts and impact.

As a leader on the team, the partner will support team culture, foster an environment of trust and support, and connect with team members through formal and informal coaching and mentoring.

Essential Functions
  • Supports the appropriate leader in developing, implementing and managing communications plans for assigned departments, service lines, initiatives and/or business units.
  • Manages and coordinates system and service line messaging for external and internal audiences across a variety of platforms based on the objectives of specific communications plans. Platforms may include the Corewell Health website, The Well, social media, corporate publications, communications campaigns, public relations and event communications.
  • Participates in coordination and management of plans for 360-degree audience outreach based on objectives set forth in specific communications plans. Must be a team player with excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Anticipates client needs, identifies opportunities and solutions, customizes as appropriate matching resources to needs, and researches and resolves problems. Manages timelines and budgets as appropriate for department, product, and/or service line, ensuring operations are managed within established guidelines. Supports system brand standards.
  • Measures the success of communications activities with data. Utilizes analytics, employee and consumer insights to inform new activities. Holds cross-functional teams accountable to key performance indicators. Partners with CX architects to implement human-centered design principles on communications strategies and tactics.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Management Information Systems or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7 years of relevant experience In communications, marketing and/or digital communications.

Preferred

  • 2 years of relevant experience In a large health care system.
