CAS is currently seeking a Molecular Biologist on our Content Operations team. This position is located at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio

Position Summary

The Molecular Biologist will contribute to CAS's world-class scientific data collection by curating high-quality research data from patent and journal literature in the Life Sciences domain. This role involves applying scientific expertise, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills in a production environment.

Job Accountabilities:



  • Curate and analyze scientific data from patent and journal literature in the Life Sciences.
  • Apply scientific and technical knowledge to support CAS's data collection efforts.
  • Contribute scientific insights and solutions to other CAS functions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Plan, manage, and participate in unit-level projects.
  • Utilize data analysis skills to enhance content operations.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team and adapt to an agile work environment.


Qualifications:

* An advanced degree in Molecular Biology or related scientific field with 2 years minimum experience in CAS database building.
* Education or professional experience with Biochemical Engineering and Pharmaceuticals a plus.
* Excellent scientific reading comprehension and writing skills.
* Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Ability to learn policies, work habits, insights, and tool usage from trainers to foster quality and productivity.
* Effective organizational skills, including attention to detail, time management, and multi-tasking.
* Familiarity with video conferencing, instant messaging, email, calendar scheduling, word processing, spreadsheets, and document sharing software.
* Programming skills a plus.
