Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek. Probationary period will not apply to shift changes. The OUTREACH SPECIALIST will recruit and engage families referred to Group Attachment Based Intervention (GABI), an intensive clinical service designed for families with birth to three-year old children who are receiving Preventive Services and/or referred from the community. GABI has expanded from its one RFK CERC Trauma Services location to 6 sites city-wide (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island). The position requires travel to various sites for training. As an integral member of the Trauma Services team, the OUTREACH SPECIALIST will conduct outreach to improve family engagement and behavioral health outcomes with specific assigned target populations. The OUTREACH SPECIALIST will conduct public education activities in the community through indoor and outdoor community events to raise awareness about behavioral/health issues and facilitate access to the Trauma Services programs. This position will assist clinicians in case management providing support on the various social determinants efforts to help families develop behavioral/health management plans, goals and follow up to track progress and help meet their goals. The OUTREACH SPECIALIST will motivate families to be active, engaged participants in their health. The OUTREACH SPECIALIST will report to the Administrator for Trauma Services. GABI experience preferred.
