The Montefiore RN maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing's Social Policy Statement. RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates leadership skills in the coordination and delivery of patient care. Systematically assesses the health care of patients/families and responses to care rendered. Demonstrates critical thinking skills to problem solve and initiate clinical decision making. Evaluates patient progress toward health goals and modifies critical path or plan of care accordingly. Develops, coordinates and provides direct care for specific patient assignment. Establishes a teaching and discharge plan based on documented patient/family learning needs, chronological maturation and cognitive ability. REQUIREMENTS: New York State License for Registered Professional Nurse and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an R.N.
