JOB SUMMARY

UT Southwestern is seeking an Environmental Services Lead - Command Center Board Operator.

The EVS Lead - Command Center Board Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Environmental Services (EVS) department's command center. This role ensures efficient communication, coordination, and execution of cleaning and maintenance tasks across the facility. The EVS Lead will monitor and manage the command center board, dispatch staff, and ensure that all areas are maintained according to established standards.

Experience and Education



  • Minimum Education and Experience:


    • High school graduation or GED required
    • Six (6) month experience in EVS preferrable or higher education in lieu of experience.


  • Minimum License and Certificates Required:


    • Basic Life Support (BLS), course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by the first day of employment is required.



Job Duties

- **Command Center Operations:**



  • - Operate and monitor the command center board to track and coordinate cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • - Ensure all service requests are logged, assigned, and completed in a timely manner.
  • - Manage real-time updates and changes to the command center board.



- **Staff Coordination:**



  • - Dispatch EVS staff to assigned areas based on real-time needs and priorities.
  • - Provide guidance and support to EVS team members to ensure efficient task completion.
  • - Address and resolve any issues or delays in service delivery.



- **Quality Assurance:**



  • - Conduct regular inspections to ensure all areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.
  • - Follow up on completed tasks to verify quality and completion.
  • - Report and document any discrepancies or areas needing improvement.



- **Communication:**



  • - Serve as the primary point of contact for EVS-related inquiries and requests.
  • - Maintain clear and effective communication with staff, management, and other departments.
  • - Relay important updates and information to the EVS team.



- **Administrative Duties:**



  • - Maintain accurate records of service requests, task completion, and staff assignments.
  • - Prepare and submit regular reports on command center operations and performance.
  • - Assist with scheduling and shift planning for EVS staff.

JOB DUTIES



  • Maintains friendly, efficient service attitude towards Transporters and co-workers.
  • Follows all department and hospital policies and procedures and to promote patient care.
  • Plans, monitors and directs Transporters for proper work habits and daily tasks. Assigns requests to Transporters and reviews accuracy of work completed.
  • Coordinates Patient Transporters daily schedule along with breaks and lunches in a timely manner.
  • In coordination with the Patient Transport Training Supervisor, ensures Transporters are fully trained and is responsible for specific training duties. Works closely with Operations Supervisor to ensure all business operations needs are met.
  • Identifies and resolves problems with transport flow in a timely manner, displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, uses discretion or seeks advice from Manager or Operations Supervisor.
  • Recognizes emergency situations, records unusual conditions, and initiates code procedures if needed.
  • Participates in Monthly Meetings and/or educational activities.
  • Ensures that the customer departments are notified of delays, cancellations, and changes in the mode of transportation, as appropriate. Relays this information to the Transporter in a timely manner.
  • Knows the locations within the hospital facility and uses safe, efficient routes to and from all locations.
  • Works with Supervisor to solve specific problems either on a one on one basis or in groups.
  • Demonstrates attention to details, maintains confidentiality, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, follows policies and procedures, follows instructions, responds to leadership direction and arrives to work meetings and appointments on time.
  • Ability to train new employees, providing day-to-day job assistance; teaching and coaching new transporters on Patient
  • Transport policies and procedures, as well as Infection Control guidelines and Customer Relations skills.
  • Uses proper codes and etiquette while communicating on phones. Follows proper department policy regarding phones by keeping phones clean, charged and secure.
  • Listens, apologizes, finds solutions and follows through when resolving Transporter and staffing issues.
  • Must be able to work as a Transporter on the floor if needed or assist on high volume periods.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays if needed.
  • Gives personal attentions, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing service.
  • Complies with dress code and uniform standards for department.
