The flight department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ is seeking an Assistant Chief, Standards Training Manager. This position shall maintain and serve as the designated FAR Part 141 Assistant Chief Instructor per FAR Part 141.36 (Assistant Chief Instructor Qualifications) under the ERAU Operating Certificate and act in the absence of the Chief Instructor per FAR Part 141.85. The Assistant Chief Instructor of Flight Standards is responsible for managing and supporting the Chief Instructor with Flight Instructor Initial and Recurrent Training Requirements per FAR Part 141.85, ensuring adequate staffing of check instructor qualified IPs, managing the check instructors to ensure, coverage of End of course checks, stage checks, upgrade training, and assisting with proper record keeping. Monitor instructor/student pass rate performance. Provide overall management of new hire, recurrent, and upgrade training to meet the needs of the department. Assistant Chief Instructors may occasionally be assigned for specific days to be available to respond Day or Night 7 days a week to respond to emergencies as they arise should the Emergency Response Committee (ERC) be activated. Assistant Chief Instructors may be asked to work outside established normal business hours in support of special university functions as assigned by the Department of Flight Chair. Assistant Chief Instructors may be asked to work from home either during normal business hours or outside of normal business hours in support of operations when the Department is closed due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
