Summary:

The Logistician II is responsible for independently managing and integrating logistics support functions that span the entire life cycle of defense systems and equipment. This role plays a key part in developing and enforcing logistics strategies, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with DoD and agency-specific sustainment policies. The position requires a strong understanding of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) principles and the ability to lead logistics efforts that enhance readiness, streamline operations, and support mission-critical objectives.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Direct and oversee integrated logistics processes to support system readiness and sustainment.
  • Develop and implement logistics support policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Provide technical and procedural guidance on logistics implementation.
  • Prepare and issue directives to ensure efficient and effective logistics support operations.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce training and equipment standards for logistics personnel.
  • Plan, initiate, and manage logistics actions related to the full life cycle of weapon systems, subsystems, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across engineering, acquisition, maintenance, and supply functions to ensure cohesive logistics integration.
  • Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to improve processes and address supportability issues.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and agency-specific logistics and sustainment requirements.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) principles and lifecycle management.
  • Ability to develop and implement logistics support strategies for complex systems, particularly in defense-related environments.
  • Proficiency in logistics data analysis, supply chain coordination, and related operational workflows.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional logistics teams.
  • Ability to interpret and apply military or government logistics regulations, directives, and compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7 years of professional experience in integrated logistics support (ILS) or a closely related logistics function.
  • Current active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience managing logistics operations across the full product life cycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead logistics efforts in military or government environments.
