Job Description

Responsible for the effective design and implementation of the outreach components of complex clean energy programs to meet the requirements of PSE's Clean Energy Implementation Plan. This role works to increase customer awareness and participation of PSE's clean energy programs, such as electric vehicles, solar and batteries, among vulnerable and highly impacted populations in a way that is culturally sensitive and reduces barriers to access to clean energy.

Provides input to strategic planning process of the outreach components of these programs in partnership with team members leading other elements of the program.. Through cross-functional collaboration and excellent team building and management, this position will be a key initiative team member and pro-actively clarify and challenge expectations about the outreach goals of these programs. This role will work to identify customer types that may be the right audience for these programs through researching local communities in partnership with the Outreach team to understand opportunities for engagement.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements the outreach component of the programs, providing support to other program team members as needed. This includes development and implementation of the local outreach work plan, materials and team coordination and project management.
  • Identifies and prioritizes outreach risks and develops the risk management and mitigation plan that addresses each risk in a timely and efficient manner. This requires close coordination, partnership and communication with multiple departments, some of which are also conducting outreach for PSE in the community.
  • Provides input into the development of the program's strategic planning process and input into the evolution of the program's outreach strategies and approaches, including engagement strategies and processes.

    • Conducts research and analysis to understand the programmatic and technological details of the programs to determine the most strategic approach for engaging customers in the program.


  • Provides support to other Communications teams as needed.
  • Performs emergency and storm duties, including customer support during Public Safety Power Shutoff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, media, business innovation, marketing, strategic leadership/management or related field, and 7 years relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in managing increasingly complex projects with cross-functional teams and in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.
  • Professional level competencies necessary to comprehend, analyze, and influence a wide range of complex business units, initiatives and issues.
  • Ability to contribute effectively in peer management teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skills and experience in collaboration and team building.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple priorities and irregular schedule commitments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.

Desired Qualifications

  • Competency in other languages, ideally Spanish
  • Experience with education and outreach initiatives in communities, ideally in traditionally underserved populations.
  • Familiarity with organizations serving multicultural communities in PSE's service area
  • Familiarity with clean energy technology, such as solar, electric vehicles and batteries.
  • Ability to leverage data to determine best customers to engage with on clean energy programs
  • Ability to connect with customers in person within service area on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends on occasion as needed.

The pay range for this position is$91,100.00-$151,600.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
