Rutgers Law School invites applications from entry-level and lateral candidates for tenure-track or tenured positions at the law school's Newark, NJ, campus. The Newark location seeks qualified candidates for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor whose teaching portfolio would include primarily Legal Analysis, Research, and Writing Skills (
LAWRS) along with Civil Procedure or Contracts.
This position is part of the Law School's unitary tenure track. All tenure-track professors, including
LAWRS faculty, are full members of the Rutgers Law faculty with access to the same scholarly support, voting rights, and governance participation. Rutgers Law School's Legal Writing program is ranked #11 nationwide.
All applicants should have a distinguished academic background and either demonstrate great promise or a record of excellence in scholarship and teaching. The position involves responsibilities for teaching, scholarship, and service. All candidates must have a doctorate (JD or PhD) in law or equivalent.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Prospective employees should speak with their hiring manager to determine which policies apply to the role or position for which they are applying.
