Your Role on the Team Applies professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research and procedural issues. Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives and makes sound recommendations. The incumbent is responsible for general administrative support including, supporting new and existing CRI programmatic activities including but not limited to, Youth Science Fellowship Program, T32 trainee activities, funding opportunities (i.e. internal and external grants). Scheduling, advertising, registration, meeting management, program evaluation and related activities for the CRI. Providing administrative support for space management Education and Training. Supporting new and existing programs for education, mentorship, and continuing career development as it relates to cancer across the spectrum of learners from middle, high school students through mid-level faculty members with focus on basic cancer research. Supporting existing and future program development, including managing curriculum development, speaker selection and scheduling, advertising, registration, meeting management, and program evaluation. Assisting in organizing educational seminars, workshops, and related activities for T32 trainees, CRI members, and the general community. Managing and tracking trainee outcomes and return on investment. Collecting, tracking, and reporting on education metrics and other newly formed initiatives Grant Support. The incumbent would also assist as a liaison between faculty, Office of Research, and UCI departments to coordinate and assist with preparation and submission of grant proposals to funding opportunities, and ensure compliance with guidelines and policies, track and manage deadlines for new and continuing applications. Provide support with progress reports, financial reports, and close-out procedures. This is a temporary position which is expected to run through November 2025 (exact dates to be determined). What It Takes to be Successful The Cancer Research Institute (CRI) is an organized research unit at UC Irvine dedicated to advancing our understanding of cancer and developing new therapies to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. It is the center for basic cancer research of the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. The role of Administrative Analyst is to provide support in management, monitoring, reporting, and analysis of all CRI activities including faculty research, educational programs, and seminars to promote interdisciplinary collaboration. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements.Certaintemporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver's License for driving university vehicles. The majority of our temporary positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment.
