Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking executive to serve as our Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer (CFO). In this high-impact, high-visibility role, you will provide thought leadership in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and corporate planning while serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO, executive leadership and the Board of Trustees.

As CFO, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing on a strategic approach to financial governance, structure and approach.
  • Guiding the financial health of the corporation by developing and executing a comprehensive financial strategy that aligns with our long-term mission and objectives.
  • Optimizing financial and operational processes to enhance efficiencies, improve decision-making and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Driving data-driven insights and predictive analytics to support executive decision-making and long-term financial sustainability.
  • Leading a high-performing finance organization, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation and accountability.
  • Ensuring financial integrity and risk management, maintaining strong governance practices and managing corporate treasury functions.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based in Chantilly, VA, which requires 100% onsite work.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
  • Executive-level financial leadership experience, with a track record of success in a complex, mission-driven organization.
  • Expertise in financial strategy, corporate planning, budgeting, forecasting and capital management.
  • Experience in government contracting and federal financial regulations (e.g., FAR, CAS, 501c3 and DCAA compliance).
  • Proven experience leading high-performing teams, fostering talent development and driving organizational change.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills with the ability to connect financial strategy with operational execution.
  • Outstanding communication and executive presence, capable of translating complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate at the highest levels, building trusted relationships across the organization.
  • Experience driving financial transformation and process optimization, leveraging technology to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance with SCI Access.
  • Willingness to travel as required (up to 50%)

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • CPA, CFA or MBA.
  • Familiarity with government budgeting processes and cost accounting standards.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, national security or nonprofit organizations is a plus.
  • Experience implementing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for financial reporting.
  • Understanding of the application of AI to accelerate financial decisions making.
