This Position reports to:

Production Supervisor
Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the unit in achieving the set production targets by adhering to the systems and processes. Each day, you will use machinery and equipment on the shop floor. You will also showcase your expertise by reading and interpreting the technical diagrams/instructions for assembly of products/systems/panels.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Conducting all types of assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products/systems/panels, including the packing where integrated with production lines.
  • Performing work manually or by using light hand tools.
  • Carrying out regular quality testing as part of a defined production process.
  • Operating within standard operating procedures and maintaining a clean work area
Qualifications for the role
  • Support the unit in achieving the set production targets by adhering to the systems and processes.
  • Produces components by assembling parts
  • Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Positions or aligns components and parts
  • Assemble parts manually or with the use of light hand tools or machines
  • Conducts quality control checks.
  • Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Correctly use machinery and equipment on the shop floor
  • Conducts all types of assembly work to produce a semi-finished or final products/systems/panel, including the packing where integrated with production lines

The role reports to the Production Supervisor and is located in Jonesboro, Arkansas. As a 2nd Shift Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling meal, plastic, and other components of electrical fittings. Parts are assembled and packed into containers using various hand tools and bench assembly. This position works 10 hour shifts Monday - Thursday, with OT as needed to meet customer demand.

Your responsibilities

  • Safely complete tasks and participate in team safety programs
  • Position parts according to unit being assembled or follow blueprint
  • Fastens parts together with bolts, washers, screws, speed, clips, rivets, or other fasteners
  • Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts
  • Operate hand tools, small presses, punch presses, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operation
  • Hand packs and seals assembled fittings and parts into containers for shipping
  • Other duties as assigned

Your background

  • High School or equivalent
  • Able to read 2 or 3 syllable words and recognize similarities/differences between words and/or numbers
  • Able to print
  • One to three months related experience/training or combination
  • Able to add, subtract 2 digit numbers and multiply/divide by 10 or 100 accurately
  • Able to understand U.S. currency, weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Able to understand/perform detailed written/verbal instruction
  • Able to maintain accuracy with variable in standardized situation
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
