Salary range:
A reasonable estimate for this position is $55,000-194,800 for exempt and $26.35-93.30 for non-exempt. See Specialist Series Exempt Salary Scale and Specialist Series Non-Exempt Salary Scale. Application Window Open date: July 3, 2025 Next review date: Thursday, Aug 7, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Tuesday, Jun 30, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Radiology at the University of California, Irvine anticipates openings for Junior, Assistant, Associate, and full Specialists. We are currently accepting applications from candidates with a robust training background in imaging instrumentation or image algorithm development. Individuals with expertise in ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging are strongly encouraged to apply. This is an ongoing recruitment. Positions are dependent on extramural funding. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal will be dependent on availability of support. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Junior Specialists - Appointees to the Junior rank should possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or equivalent research experience. Assistant Specialists - Appointees to the Assistant rank should possess a master's degree (or equivalent degree), or five years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization. Associate Specialists - Appointees to the Associate rank should possess a master's degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization. Associate Specialists are normally expected to have a record of academic accomplishments, including contributions to published or in-press research in the field and a demonstrated record of University and/or public service. Full Specialists - Appointees to the Full rank should possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization. Specialists at full rank are normally expected to have a significant record of academic accomplishments, including contributions to published or in-press research in the field, professional recognition in the field, and a demonstrated record of University and/or public service.
