Director of Digital Banking

SUMMARY: The Director of Digital Banking will play a critical role in driving the execution of BankUnited's retail digital transformation strategy and should have experience doing similar type of work while taking a collaborative and hands-on approach. This position will maintain responsibility for the conception, delivery, maintenance, and ongoing innovation of the Bank's digital platform.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the current functionality available within the Bank's existing digital platform and assess innovation opportunities.
  • Research industry trends, application options, and vendor offerings to effectively conceptualize BankUnited's digital transformation.
  • Build and manage a product roadmap that delivers a differentiating digital banking experience, deepens customer engagement, and ensures BankUnited's continued relevance in a rapidly evolving digital banking environment.
  • Define product initiatives for new features and optimizations of existing ones.
  • Prioritize customer needs and develop/manage product features that enhance the digital banking experience and encourage customer engagement.
  • Manage the cross-channel client experience.
  • Provide leadership and oversight, as well as hand-on development and execution, for all digital products and services and ongoing enhancements.
  • Day-to-day management oversite of the Bank's digital offerings.
  • Engage closely with cross-functional stakeholders to define needs and deliver solutions.
  • Track competition and identify emerging and/or disruptive trends to ensure that BankUnited remains at the forefront of digital banking.
  • Develop and manage an innovative, forward-thinking team.
  • Effectively communicate status of projects, product challenges, etc. to executive management.
  • Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, etc.)
  • Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activity.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises function, projects or services and/or one or more employees, as applicable.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance coaching; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE

  • 7-9 Years of experience in digital product strategy and transformation required
  • Experience in financial services but open to similar roles outside of this industry preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have a track record of successful project management using Agile methodologies.
