Under supervision of the Senior Custodial Supervisor, the Lead Custodian assists in the scheduling, assigning and coordination of the work of one or more teams of Senior Custodians. Lead Custodians assist in determining duties; utilization of materials and equipment; development of work methods; and the ordering, issuing and/or storing of custodial materials and equipment. Prepares and maintains daily time and payroll records for Supervisor's approval. Assists Custodians with labor entries in work management and payroll systems. Inspects assigned buildings and custodial work assignments to ensure that custodial standards are met and work is being done in a safe and efficient manner. Provides on-the-job training to employees in cleaning techniques, maintenance and use of equipment and cleaning supplies. Is responsible for daily distribution and collection of custodial keys to custodial staff. Completes emails, any required forms, attendance reports and supply orders using Customer Portal system. Reviews status reports such as daily activity logs to ensure smooth transition between shifts. Conducts quarterly supply inventories and orders supplies monthly. Writes, submits, or calls-in maintenance work orders. Perform custodial duties per Facilities Management's (FM) Building Services' task and frequency schedule or during staff absences and vacations. Effectively communicates with staff and with internal and external customers. Responds to any requests for assistance, including emergency assistance, via radio, telephone or other communication regarding flood calls, spill containment and slip hazards. Provides urgent custodial assistance to Campus Police and/or other areas of Facilities Management as necessary. Instruct Senior Custodians in department's uniform standards and use of proper safety gear to ensure work practices comply with departmental expectations, safety rules and work methods. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $44,746 - $58,986 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $21.43 - $28.25 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
